Endorsement
A written instructor authorization in a pilot's logbook that grants specific privileges, such as solo flight in a make and model or solo cross-country. Student pilot endorsements under 14 CFR 61.87 and 61.93 must match the aircraft and operation, and the 90-day solo endorsement expires and must be renewed.

- FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations)The rules prescribed by the FAA governing all aviation activities in the United States. Key parts include Part 61 (pilot certification), Part 91 (general operating rules), Part 141 (flight school certification), and Part 135 (commuter and on-demand operations).
- FBO (Fixed Base Operator)A commercial business at an airport that provides aviation services such as fuel, hangar space, aircraft parking, flight training, aircraft rental, and maintenance. FBOs serve as the primary service provider at most general aviation airports.
- FDC NOTAMA Flight Data Center NOTAM that publishes regulatory information such as changes to instrument approach procedures, chart amendments, and temporary flight restrictions. FDC NOTAMs are distinct from airport/facility (D) NOTAMs and must be reviewed in preflight planning.
- Final ApproachThe last segment of an instrument or visual approach procedure in which the aircraft is aligned with the runway and descending for landing. During instrument approaches, the final approach begins at the final approach fix (FAF).
